What is Report Builder?

Report Builder provides advisers and support staff with a versatile reporting tool within Adviser Online. This feature allows users to:

  • group multiple client reports into consolidated packs in one centralised location
  • create bespoke reporting packs that can be saved as a template and used for client reporting on an ongoing basis
  • run reports for individual accounts or groups of accounts.

How can I run reports using Report Builder?

To use Report Builder for an individual account:

  1. Log into Adviser Online
  2. Find a client account for which you want to run a report pack
  3. Select the client’s wrap account using the global search bar or side navigation
  4. Select the Report Builder tab
  5. Select the reports you want to include in the report pack on the ‘Reports’ tile
  6. Select your preferred date range and format options for each report
  7. Reorder the reports using the Re-order selection button
  8. Select the Download button.

To use Report Builder for a reporting wrap group:

  1. Log into Adviser Online
  2. Select the reporting wrap group using the wrap groups drop-down in the global search bar or side navigation
  3. Select the Report Builder tab
  4. Select the reports you want to include in the report pack on the ‘Create a report’ tile
  5. Select your preferred date range and format options for each report
  6. Reorder the reports using the Re-order selection button
  7. Select the Download button.

Note: You can instantly create wrap groups within Adviser Online or leverage existing reporting groups to generate the group report pack. By default, all active accounts within a group (up to a maximum of 8) will be included. If the group contains more than 8 accounts, you’ll be prompted to select up to 8 accounts to include in the report.

Are all client reports available in Report Builder?

We’re currently transitioning reporting capabilities to Adviser Online, rebuilding and enhancing the features you currently use and enjoy. We’ll make sure every reporting component is available in Adviser Online before it’s removed from Wrap Online.

To access reporting in Wrap Online:

  1. Log in to Adviser Online
  2. From the side navigation, hover over Business and select Client & adviser reporting.

How can I use Report Builder templates?

This functionality allows you to create templates that save your report pack preferences for easier downloads. There are two all-account templates available for each of your clients’ wrap accounts:

  • EOFY pack
  • quarterly pack.

You can create additional templates by selecting New template on the ‘Templates’ tile.

A few things to note:

  • Any report available from the ‘Reports’ tile can also be included in a template.
  • The templates you create can’t be shared with others in your practice as they’re unique to your profile. However, once a report pack is successfully generated from the ‘Templates’ tile, it’ll appear on the ‘Generated reports’ tile and can be accessed by any user with access to the account. See ‘What are generated reports?’ below for more information.
  • Once an account is closed, you can no longer create new templates for that account, however you’ll still be able to see the existing templates.

What are generated reports?

Generated reports allows you to access and download reports more efficiently.

A few things to note:

  • The ‘Generated reports’ tile will only display report packs that have been successfully generated in the last 90 days from the ‘Reports’ or ‘Templates’ tile.
  • Any user with access to the account can view all reports generated for that account.
    • For example, if a support staff downloads a report pack for an account, the adviser will be able to log in with their access code, navigate to the account and access the generated report pack.
    • Users will be able to download, view details and delete the generated report pack.

What if accounts are closed or weren’t active for the entire reporting period?

When generating group performance reports, Adviser Online only includes an account's active period when calculating performance. This means performance values are limited to the period during which the account was active.

While closed accounts can’t be added to a new group, an account that was active when the group was created can still be included in group reports after it has been closed.

If you’re using group performance reporting for accounts that have undergone a super to pension switch (or vice versa), the account that’s pending closure will need to already be part of the wrap group to be included in the group report pack.
